AMAR Method
Music is a possibility to learn, express ourselves, meet and participate.

The AMAR Method is a pedagogical and didactic strategy created by Fundación Amadeus to make music learning accessible to people with and without intellectual disabilities. It starts from the recognition that there are different ways of learning and offers resources that allow people to approach the musical experience from those differences.
What is transformed
Skill development
Sustained instrumental practice trains attention, memory and coordination, and leaves its mark on school learning.
Expression and well-being
Music opens a channel of its own to say what we feel, regulate emotion and gain confidence.
Bonds that connect
Playing in a group requires listening to others: social participation is learned by rehearsing together.
How does it work?
One of its signature resources is the pictunotas, visual representations that relate musical notes to everyday objects, making them easier to recognize and understand. The use of color complements this strategy and supports processes such as attention, concentration and short-term memory.
El Método se desarrolla a partir de tres dimensiones que se relacionan entre sí:
- 01
Awareness
It fosters bonds among participants, teachers and the community.
- 02
Characterization
It allows us to recognize each person's capacities from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- 03
Application
It integrates experiences of listening, rhythm, storytelling, pictunotas and instrument performance.
In this way, the musical experience also becomes a setting to strengthen cognitive, sensory, emotional and social skills, and to foster bonds, teamwork and active participation.
What is distinctive about Amadeus is making music an accessible language that recognizes capacities, accompanies different ways of learning and opens possibilities to participate alongside others.
