AMAR Classrooms

Inclusion is built when an educational community learns to recognize the different ways of learning, participating and relating, and creates environments able to respond to them.

AMAR Classrooms is a Fundación Amadeus program that accompanies educational communities in building more inclusive learning environments, starting from their own reality and from the capacities, knowledge, experiences and relationships that already exist within the school.

What is transformed

Inclusive schools

Strengthened educational communities

How does it work?

The process invites the school to look back at itself: to recognize how it understands difference, identify the resources it already has and discover new ways of connecting them. From there, teachers, students, families and other members of the educational community become involved to strengthen practices, relationships and opportunities that support learning and participation.

AMAR Classrooms unfolds through five stages:

  1. 01

    Recognition

    Understanding the institution's starting point.

  2. 02

    Awareness

    Shifting perspectives on difference.

  3. 03

    Training

    Strengthening knowledge and capacities.

  4. 04

    Accompaniment

Accompanying its application in everyday life.

  5. 05

    Evaluation and sustainability

Recognizing what the community wants to keep building and caring for.

In this way, transformation happens at different levels: in educational practices, in relationships, in learning environments and in the way the community connects around inclusion. The school strengthens its capacity to respond to different ways and rhythms of learning and to make participation an experience that is increasingly present in everyday life.

When Amadeus's accompaniment ends, the Inclusion Committee is strengthened to lead the process autonomously, continuing the learning and practices that have been built.

With the support of Ingenio Pichichí, we are transferring AMAR Classrooms to Colegio Cristo Rey of the Pichichí Foundation, accompanying its educational community in a process to recognize, connect and strengthen the capacities that already exist in the school, moving toward more inclusive learning environments.

In this way, inclusion becomes a capacity that the school itself recognizes, makes its own and continues to develop.
